Lena’s birthday is on Friday! In honor of her special day, we  want to know what you would give Lena for her birthday.  Send a picture of what you would give her to castergirls@gmail.com.  Online images are fine as long as they are not copyrighted.

*** If you really want to help us celebrate, tweet your photo with the hashtag #Lenasbirthday and put it up on your Facebook page & ours!  Tag Kami & Margie so they’ll see it!

The most original idea will get a special charm from us — a vintage typewriter key with an “E” for Ethan.

Hurry because this contest will end tomorrow at midnight PST.  We will be posting the winner and the original birthday gift idea on Friday morning along with some of our other favorites!

So email us at castergirls@gmail.com with the subject line Lena’s Birthday Gift.

We think Lena needs a new pair of boots like these.

So, guys, the holidays are around the corner, and I was curious to see how many would like to do the read-along now? Are the holidays good for you? Do you want to wait until after, around January? The idea is to read 2 chapters a week and have a discussion on Saturday or Sunday, as an all-day post. We'll talk about the characters, plot development, plot devices, any symbolism you see, etc. It's not like high school or college, just a fun little discussion post.

Please comment or use the poll! :)

A quick heads up for those of you on Goodreads: Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl will be answering questions about their books and discussing their new novel, Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles, #2), on their Goodreads Author discussion group (Q&A with Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl) from 8th - 14th November.  You have to have a Goodreads account to join the group.

Author Spotlight in Desert News, Salt Lake City, UT

The story of how Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl became authors is as unique as the characters and story lines in their paranormal series the Caster Chronicles.

When the friends were dared by Stohl's teenage daughters to write a book, they had no idea it would turn into a New York Times best-seller or that Warner Bros. would option its film rights.

The two never really planned on getting their book published in the first place. They just wanted to prove they could follow through and write it.

It's spoiler-free, you guys. ;)
